Patchy beards or missing sideburns, thin moustache are a problem many men suffer from. Sometimes this can be hereditary, other times it can be due to scars of surgery, trauma or burns or birthmarks but whatever the cause, the effects can be debilitating because loss or absence of facial hair is immediately apparent and difficult to conceal resulting in loss of symmetrical alignment of the face leading to even the smartest of men appearing ungroomed.

Whilst facial hair fashions often change, the wish for many men to develop a beard or sideburns will always exist. However, for some men, even those who take good care of their appearance and consume a healthy diet, this can be an issue. This could be down to genetic hair growth patterns, or even as a result of damage.

Beard restoration surgery can completely alter the appearance of your face, giving it a more contoured line and a fuller, more neatly shaved look.

One solution to this problem is beard hair transplant surgery by FUE hair transplant or FUT hair transplant technique, a relatively simple solution that alleviates bald patches, creating a full or thicker and/or nicer goatee creating a masculine appearance.

Generally, the procedure will take between three to seven hours depending on the number of grafts or hair follicles, which have to be harvested. Healthy hair follicles are usually harvested from the side or back of the head using the same technique used for hair transplants on the scalp.

In the first few days following the procedure, small crusts will form around each transplanted follicle. These will eventually disappear, and within two-three weeks the transplanted hair will fall out. This is perfectly normal and is nothing to worry about. After a few months, new hair will start to grow in its place.
