Why are thick eyebrows desirable?

Should I have an eyebrow transplant consultation with a surgeon or a sales consultant?

A sales consultant is not surgically qualified to provide advice on surgical restoration. Eyebrow transplants are more technically difficult than hair transplants for the hair on your head. Eyebrow transplantations are carried out under local anaesthetic and the hair behind your neck is used. What will happen during the consultation?

If you are having the FUE technique then a very small strip is taken from the back of  your head. How does the actual eyebrow surgery work?

1.The technique used is called FUT or strip surgery. A small area of skin with hairs is taken from the back of your scalp with local anaesthetic. It can be uncomfortable for you but shouldn’t be painful.

2.The hairs are individually separated. This process is called slivering and will be  carried out by hair technicians.Small slits are made at the perfect angles for your new eyebrow shape.

3.The hairs are placed inside your new incisions made by the surgeon.Alternatively if FUE technique is used then your hair is extracted by the surgeon individually. Each hair is inserted into your new slits at the correct angles so it lies flat.This is carried out using very fine jewellers forceps.

What will happen after the procedure?

If you experience a small amount of swelling then don’t worry this is temporary. Your new eyebrow hairs will scab over and fall out at around two weeks. If you cant see new eyebrow hair immediately don’t panic! This is called the period of doubt and is before the new eyebrow hairs grow. It is important not to worry at this stage as the eyebrow hairs will grow.

In time, you will see the growth phase will begin. As a result in four to six months you will notice thicker fuller eyebrows.
